Description: more of a band of survivors than a true government. The foundlings (as they refuse to them selves) are the remains of several disasters that struck great civilizations and shattered them apart. the long trek from what ever disaster struck their home to this set of ruins made sure that only those with a will to live and the creativity to use the resources around them made it. it is unknown what draws the people of lost civilizations to this place, but enough have gathered that the idea of starting again sounds like a good idea. with The ingenuity and will that comes from surviving will the foundlings create a safe haven finally? or will they fall to the same fate that struck their original homes?

The wind stops, the sea is wild, and the earth begins to rot.
The people wait, their only hope, a prophecy...

"When the world is swallowed by the endless night, and when all seems lost in the war of light...
The embers of hope will again ignite.... when the eclipse gate shall opens and a kingdom takes flight..."

In another world in another time there existed ancient kingdom known as The Arkedon Dominion. Lead by the dauntless Kirin'var (or Crystal King in their tongue), the Dominion rose from warring states into an unified and enlightened empire. Over many years the ancient scholars of Arkedon were able to unlock the secrets of magic and transform the kingdom into a paragon of art, culture, and technology. Each day birthed new innovations and impossible discoveries which allowed Arkedon was able to expand and flourish. However, The empire's golden years were not to last. A terrible darkness soon eclipsed the world as a terrible war ravaged its surface. Mighty empires that stood for centuries crumbled into dust as death roiled across the world like thunder. Arkedon itself was soon beset upon all sides by ancient enemies, and before long the great empire would be consumed with the rest of the world. In an act of desperation however, the Crystal King unleashed a weapon of unfathomable power in hopes of saving his domain from oblivion. The eclipse gate, an artifact of unknown origin discovered many years ago beneath the kingdom, was opened for the first and last time. As the doors were flung open a great light enveloped the Kirin'var's great citadel, consuming it before spreading to devour the entire capital. As the light receded, the citizens of Arkedon awoke to discover their city somehow still stood. Their world however, did not. Unfamiliar skies greeted them as the discovered the gate had saved their kingdom from destruction by spiriting it away to a new world beyond their own.


The Remnants of Arkedon are refugees from another world. Their home is the floating remains of their capital city which floats several kilometers above the earth. Within the massive Starfall Citadel dwells the Crystal King, the eternal lord of Arkedon whose body has become infused with crystalized magic. As strangers to this new earth the Remnants seek to rebuild their shattered empire and return it to its days of glory. Arkedon shall rise again and secure its place in this world through any means necessary.

Asgard

Godly shrines, some form of magic found in it. Gods they are dedicated too unknown -- most deep in the earth.

Scouts go north and south along coast.

Southern scouts attacked by pirates but win, take a couple slaves.


Southern scouts find another country in the teritory of 8. Named Drak'joon. Ruled over by a mighty necromancer, the majority of the population are skeletons. Skeletons are totally subservient and enjoy freestyle beetboxing.
Litchlord Draak immediately commands that asgard becomes a vassal.

Southern scouts lost, northern find megacorperation.



The Foundling

In the ruins find ancient tech far beyond anything you have in the ancient ruins on the island.

Bonus to steam, metalurgy, and machining

Come across ursanoc, dwarves who worship a bear god, those who are devoted enough become half-bear dwarves.

Spy goes into ursanoc. He is caught and they immediately close their borders.


Arkedon
People falter because of far off unknown land and danger of staying in an unknown floating citadel. Archmages find themselves near powerless here -- no nearby lanelines.
Fertile valleys hold goats, siberian tigers, and large ravens (wing span of 5 feet).

Western scounts find ocean, eastern find strange large crabs the size of tigers. Large fangs that drain blood like the chupacabra.

Eastern scouts find a river.

Northern scouts attacked spectres.

southern scout finds snow that explodes violently on touch.

Primus Lux
You come across a country that is actually a puppet government of a different country. The main country is far away and hasn't been heard from in a while. Puppet country is east of you, the masters are further east.
Their master's are a dictatorship. The master country is human and very militaristic, the puppet country is very docile and a race of orcs - the orcs are into fine machining, they have some cool trinkets
and devices that are beyond your country's understanding of tech. The orcish kingdom is called Valenkrag. the masters kingdom is the country of Hossen. You may immediately begin trading with Valenkrag.

Primus Lux begins trading with Valenkrag.

[Actions]

-Construct a road network in the lands below Arkedon. The crystal king wants to make sure the food supplies are delivered in an orderly fashion. Small watchposts will be placed at regular intervals to guard the roads and warn of any incoming danger.

-As soon as the repairs to the capital are complete Arkedon will hold its first annual Light's Veil Festival to boost the morale of its citizens. During the day the festival features music, food, and dance to celebrate the day Arkedon escaped calamity and transitioned to this world. The festival is also held to remember those lost during the great sundering and honor their memory. Citizens decorate floating lanterns in the memory of those lost and release them high into the sky and watch them drift to the land below. In this way they hope these lights will guide the departed souls back to their homeland.
